Baroque guitars

Baroque guitars are copies of the 1690 Voboam guitar from the Paris museum the 1699 Voboam guitar from the The Hague museum or the anonymous 5 course guitar also from Paris(museum number E-130). It is also possible to order a copy of the Stradivari baroque guitar.

The 1690 Voboam has a string length of 65 cm and 1699 Voboam a string length of 68 cm.

The anonymous guitar can be made with a string lenght between 68 and 73 cm.

All instruments have a beautiful inlay and an original 3 D rosette.
Tuning is aa-dD-gg-bb-ee.

Woods and finish

All baroque guitars have an Alpine spruce sound- board. Sides are made of 3 pieces of Rio rosewood laminated with bands of maple or satin wood. Backs are made of 6 pieces of Rio rosewood laminated with bands of maple or satin wood. Necks are ebony veneer over spruce laminated with bands of maple or satin wood. Inlays are holly combined with ebony or bone combined with ebony and holly.

3D rosette is gilded with bronze powder combined with white parchment or with gold leaf and white parchment.

Sound-board finished with casein lacquer, back and sides French polish

Baroque guitars with vaulted back

Baroque guitars with vaulted back are based on the anonymous guitar from the Paris museum (E-130). This guitar can be made with a string length between 68 and 73 cm. All instruments have a beautiful inlay and an original 3 D rosette.
Tuning is aa-dD-gg-bb-ee.

Woods and finish

All guitars with vaulted back have an Alpine spruce sound- board. Sides are made of several pieces of Rio rosewood laminated with bands of maple or satin wood. Backs are made of 17 to 23 pieces of Rio rosewood laminated with bands of maple or satin wood. Necks are ebony veneer over spruce laminated with bands of maple or satin wood. It is also possible to veneer the neck with a baroque motive in maple and ebony (see small picture).

Inlays are holly combined with ebony or bone combined with ebony and holly.

3D rosette is gilded with bronze powder combined with white parchment or with gold leaf and white parchment.

Sound-board finished with casein lacquer, back and sides French polish
